What is TheMenuMag?
Starting February 1st, 2010, the restaurant advertising market will be forever changed...
TheMenuMag is an 8 ½ x 11, full color menu magazine that is delivered to nearly 80 local hotels and condos. TheMenuMag is beneficial to tourists because they will now have a comprehensive magazine containing only restaurant menus. The magazine will include no editorials or other advertisements. The table of contents in the front of the magazine currently has the following fields: Address, Phone, Website, Hours, Service (breakfast, lunch, dinner), Private Parties/Facilities, Television, Dress Code, Patio/Outdoor Dining, Reservations, Catering, Entertainment, Valet, Average Price per Person, Kids Menu, Kids Area, Payments Accepted, Bar, Smoking Area, Happy Hour, Delivery, Delivery Charge, Minimum Delivery Amount, Wireless Internet. Viewers will quickly identify a color-coded toolbar on the side of each page. This toolbar is coded according to cuisine and lists the following viable information: Entertainment, WiFi accessibility, Delivery, Bar, Cuisine, Average Price per Person, and Location. Viewers will have efficient access to the most important information needed to make a decision about their next dining excursion.
Understanding the Local Market
According to UWF's Haas Center for Business Research & Economic Development almost 750,000 tourists stay overnight in Destin each year. Tourists spend majority of their money on hospitality and food/beverage services. As of February 2009 there are 317 restaurants open and operating from 30A to Mary Esther. Think depends on local hotels and condos to gain insight regarding tourists’ needs and frequently asked questions. Most of these properties agree that dining comes up most often when talking with tourists. Especially when staying in a hotel without a kitchen, vacationers are looking to dine-out for nearly every meal. The front desks at some of these properties currently offer a custom-built “menu book” that tourists are able to browse: a cluttered and unorganized binder filled with uncategorized menus. The hospitality industry needs a restaurant go-to guide for their guests to take with them and use throughout their stay in Destin.
A First Glance at Other Local Publications
In our current market, there are only two ways to discover a new place to eat. The first option is to ask for a recommendation from a local which in most cases is the front desk staff. The second option is to browse through the many cluttered and ad-loving publications available in the area. The issue with marketing restaurants in other local publications is the “artwork vs. artwork” battle. Compared to TheMenuMag, these local magazines have such a high ad to content ratio that tourists are forced to choose between artwork because there is little information to aid in the decision making process. Instead, TheMenuMag offers more detailed and precise information about the restaurant. Guests and Tourists will be provided a full copy of their restaurant menu and an extensive map pinpointing the exact location. Our approach is much different from other publications. Instead of trying to encompass the entire market, TheMenuMag targets the restaurant industry specifically by providing the most relevant information about a single subject. Even though there are many other publications in our area, they are still not direct competitors with TheMenuMag.

Users are able to browse through entire menus or search by restaurant, cuisine and area. Soon you will be able to search for a specific entrée in a given area. For example, you could search for "Chicken Alfredo in Destin, FL" and every menu that has Chicken Alfredo within 15 miles of Destin will be displayed in your results. Dishes can even be ranked by users so the best Chicken Alfredo on the Emerald Coast is listed first. TheTasteYouCrave.com is a multi-dimensional system that is constantly changing and always updateable.

So...Who and What is Think?
In 2007 Shea Allen and a private investor established Think, L.L.C., a marketing firm based in Destin, Florida. Think employs young entrepreneurs with fresh ideas who are passionate about their projects. Shea Allen, a lifelong resident of Destin, is eager to change the marketing mindset and bring his projects to life. Shea’s graphic design skills and self-taught knowledge of marketing position him to revolutionize contemporary marketing strategies.
Soon after Think’s establishment, Ryan Guidry and Jamie Graham joined the team. Ryan Guidry, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native, quickly became one of the state’s top salesmen through Aflac (American Family Life Assurance Company). He proved that, although tricky, insurance sales can be rewarding. Jamie Graham grew up in Destin and is currently experiencing marketing success with Pre-Paid Legal. As another Destin local, Jamie is enthusiastic about recruiting her many contacts for Think’s creative marketing solutions.
Currently Think has two major projects in development. These projects are TheMenuMag and TheTasteYouCrave.com. TheMenuMag is an 8 ½ x 11, full color menu magazine and Think’s main focus. It contains full menus from local restaurants and will be delivered to nearly 80 local hotels and condos. Restaurants will find TheMenuMag beneficial because of its competitive price and target market. TheTasteYouCrave.com is a searchable website containing menus from TheMenuMag and other local participants. It allows the user to search for keywords on any local menu (i.e. “Chicken Alfredo”) and provides directions and restaurant information.
